The fan will spin up whenever it feels like it and really loud too. The LAN driver is apparantly Realtek, but that's easy to get as well because Realtek doesn't care about what OS you use and will give you full support ranging from XP all the way to Win 10 (I think!?).Īnd lastly, yes the fan issue. While that's all fine and dandy, if you need the USB and LAN / WiFi Drivers, other than the LAN drivers everything is pretty much accessible through Windows Update or the Intel Utility. The Nvidia driver is easy to get, just install Geforce Experience and it will install all your driver needs as well. The USB drivers I got from the Intel Driver Utility thing, as well as the display driver. Yes, I've heard about this Driver Booster software! I thought of using it later on to collect all the drivers.Īnd what is the fan issue all about? Is it too loud on a GL752? What's about the ATK, did you read my first post? It was one of the drivers that I already have properly installed, as I managed to install a few of the drivers directly from the original DVD (it appears that this "Windows10 only" DVD contains some Windows7 drivers). Where did you find the drivers for both of the graphic cards (the basic Intel and the main nVidia)? As for Windows 7, I have a full version including Service Pack, but haven't installed this extra-update yet. I think I will just try to install the USB drivers and LAN/Wi-Fi drivers suggested here by U2Desire, and see what happens. I prefer connecting a mouse to a USB 2.0 port in order to have my USB 3.0 ports always available for some other things which require higher connection speed. Therefore, I really need to get my USB 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 drivers for Win7. You can read from my first post, I did the same thing while installing Windows and some of the drivers - I used keyboard only.

HF: The new trade mechanics are quite specific to republics. However, the five Patrician families do play a very special role within republics, competing for trade and trying to get elected Doge.Īre the new trade mechanics specific to republics, or can anyone make use of them? Just like republics can be vassals of feudal lords, they in turn can be in fief to republics. How do republics interact with their vassals? What happens when a republic conquers a feudal territory? For example, if you marry a countess, your oldest son might become Patrician after you, but your second oldest could inherit the county from your wife, and so on. However, inheritance between the two types of realm is blocked. Patricians can build Trade Posts in coastal provinces, which will generate serious income for them (and give a slight boost to the local Count too.) Republics can, of course, also expand the usual way through conquest, and they can gain alliances with feudal lords through marriage. Republican gameplay centers around cities and the amassing of gold rather than castles and territorial expansion. HF: There are some rather major differences. In fact, it will be very hard to keep control of the Doge position for many consecutive terms…Īre there any specific things Republics can do that feudal domains cannot? Anything they can't do? The new Doge will normally be the oldest, most prestigious family head, but players can also boost their chances by investing money in their "campaign fund" (for bribes and such.) However, losing an election is not Game Over you just keep playing and planning how to regain control of the republic. Doges might rule for life, but when they die there is an election where the next Doge is selected from among the five great Patrician families the Lucchese, the Bonnanno, the Gambino. Republics are also subject to the new Embargo Casus Belli, which can be used against them by external powers in order to destroy their trade posts for an instant sum of money, representing seized assets.Ĭan your dynasty be "elected out" of power, like the Elective succession system in the existing game? How do you go about preventing this? HF: There is no change to the religion mechanics for republics, but Patricians do have access to some additional Casus Bellis: they can seize trade posts from rivals, they can take coastal cities from anyone in order to support their trade posts, and they can take entire coastal provinces if they already have a city there. How do religion and Casus Belli operate for republics? In order to play the audio file elsewhere, you need to convert AAC to MP3, which would reduce the quality a little bit, but enable you to play the audio file nearly on any device or platform. If you have a lot of AAC files, chances are you can only play them on you your iPhone, iPod or Mac computer. Since AAC is a unique decoding method developed by Apple, the platforms on which you can play an AAC file are very limited. Among them, the most important one is the compatibility. However, AAC files also has their fatal drawbacks. For example, the file decoded by AAC usually has a higher coding efficiency, and is able to maintain a high quality that is nearly indistinguishable from the original audio source. Although AAC files are compressed audio files similar to MP3, the special decoding method still offer several performance improvements comparing to MP3. AAC, also known as Advanced Audio Coding, is the default encoding method used by Apple’s iTunes and the iTunes Music Store. Not sure how the former is, but Cortana language and region support is still poor, which for me means that windows 10 iot doesn't have value at this point in time. For me tieing into windows services and apps and being able to use Cortana voice would be reasons for me to use it as a consumer. But with the latter I can imagine the compeition quickly filling in that gap. I might be able to pull in weather data into the app and have a few more sensors. As an example the GLAS theramostat has a lot of features that other "smart" thermosstats also have. I think it might have it's value in certain businesses. I don't think Windows IoT can do much for mainstream consumers. There are propriety smart hub systems like Samsung, and apple - but probably the majority of smart stuff has some level of multiple OS/protocol compatibility. That said, even with ios and android, you get stuff that is exclusive, so it's really not like you can just pick any smart device and not be mindful of what it works with. Most things can be done, but you need to sort of design or pick whatever you are using for windows. The harmon kardon speaker is noteworthy as the only windows based speaker. There's a list somewhere on the blog page of this website that covers a lot of them. There is a small, but fairly comprehensive range of smart devices that work with windows and cortana, such as ecobee and phillips hue. They don't need to be made by the makers of the operating system either. There's no smart lightbulb running ios for example. Smart devices don't specifically have to RUN the operating system they work with, they merely need to be compatible. It's for manufacturers, and perhaps also for tinkerers. Also a thermostat is like one of the only close to useful products in this genre that I can see. So you use windows 10 IoT to build out say, a smart watch, or smart thermostat (is it really expensive smartglass? I was real curious about that is it's the only thermostat that also measures air quality and uses outside weather data. Yeah, it's not a protocol, it's an operating system. Isabelle Adjani, more famous as a French actress, is nice to ogle and she, too, doesn't say much in this film. He is a man of few words in this movie and he handles that in a fascinating manner. Maybe because Ryan, who people think of more as the likable male in the immensely popular "Love Story," "Paper Moon" and "Barry Lyndon" plays against type, playing an ultra-serious criminal. Why 'The Driver" is not better known is a mystery since the director (Walter Hill) and main actors (Ryan O'Neal and Bruce Dern) are well-known entities. It also sports a real oddity: no one's name is mentioned in the entire film! Try to think of any other film you've ever seen where this is the case. There is no baloney in this surprisingly good movie (it's not well-known). Reviewed by ccthemovieman-1 9 /10 No Names Please! Those films aren't fit to shine the chrome of this one. It's a shame that junk like "The Transporter" and "Gone In Sixty Seconds" have come to embody the modern day equivalent of the existential bad guy and wheelman. The performances and cinematography are gloriously minimal and committed to the aesthetic of 'cool'. If you can find a copy of it, buy it or rent it. In a nutshell, this film delivered in spades. I popped it in the vcr (old school all the way) and sat back ready to be taken into a dangerous world of ruthless and amoral characters who live by some sort of twisted samurai code and law of thieves. Once I did, it was like some sort of archaeological find. Well I was obsessed and had to find the film. That of Ryan O'Neal behind the wheel -shades in place, a study in cool. Then I shook loose a repressed memory of a scene from the Driver -well more like an image. About a year ago I found the novelization at a local used bookshop and was enthralled. Try not to devote all your free time to the investigation, because your hero must continue to work in order to receive money and ensure his existence.I looked long and hard for this film and finally found it online. Be careful and at the same time persistent, the closer you get to the criminal, the more dangerous the conversations will become. Lead the dialogue in the right direction by asking the right questions. Some of them will be happy to share rumors, guesses, versions, from which you will have to choose the information you need. Take this opportunity to get people to talk and get secrets out of them. During the shift, the taxi driver carries several dozen passengers who are not averse to chatting. After the police officer asks you to help the investigation, however, it can be done in a rather interesting way. Your hero, an ordinary taxi driver, was the last person to see one of the murderer’s victims alive. In the game Night Call you have to play the role of an aspiring detective. Every day the number of victims only increases, and the police helplessly throw up their hands in an attempt to find the perpetrator. Head to the streets of Paris, where a serial killer terrifies people. It was the first commercial package to feature Inverse kinematics for character animation. Its first product was called the Softimage Creative Environment, later renamed to Softimage 3D. At the time, there were only three employees. He was joined in 1988 by founding director, Char Davies, a Virtual Reality artist who became vice-president of Virtual Research. Softimage was founded in 1986 by National Film Board of Canada filmmaker Daniel Langlois. ĭuring the Microsoft years, Softimage also developed a non-linear video-editing and compositing suite named Softimage|DS, which was available from Avid Technology under the name Avid DS, until its EOL on September 30, 2013. In 1997, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Softimage a Scientific and Engineering Award for the development of the "Actor" component of Softimage|3D. Its successor, Softimage XSI, was used in the production of the Academy Award-winning feature film Happy Feet, 300 and Charlotte's Web (2006) and the production of games such as Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Its first product, Softimage 3D, was used in the creation of special effects for movies such as Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Titanic and The Fifth Element. A subsidiary of Microsoft in the 1990s, it was sold to Avid Technology, who would eventually sell the name and assets of Softimage's 3D-animation business to Autodesk. ˌ s ɒ f t ɪ ˈ m ɑː ʒ/ was a company located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that produced 3D animation software. Lamar weaves stories covering history of black oppression and emasculation with modern chronicles of police brutality. That voyeuristic thrill fades quickly when one begins to realize how much is at stake in the topics he chooses to discuss. The album plays out like an uncomfortable, high-stakes psychotherapy session. It offers a glimpse into how agonizing it is to be a survivor in America - more specifically a black survivor, living in a society that glorifies black culture and devalues black life. To Pimp a Butterfly does something more important than provide answers, though. In this way, To Pimp a Butterfly is the complete converse of the conscious rap of the '90s, oft characterized by and maligned for its didacticism. Most of the time, Lamar's lyrics sow more chaos than they provide answers. Lamar grapples with Lucifer, God and even the almighty Tupac looking for answers. The hook offers a glimpse at the album's pathos, and that two-word question becomes To Pimp a Butterfly's obsession. "But now I just wanna fuck." He describes that toxic relationship: "Bridges burned, lessons learned/ Destroyed." Then, he asks, "What for?" Some of the most telling moments in the album comes in its opener, "Wesley's Theory?" That first hook: "At first I did love you," Lamar sings, reciting a heartbroken valentine directed at the rap game. To Pimp a Butterfly covered these topics, but did so with an urgency and a frightening humanity no other music this year could match. Justin Bieber's Purpose covered his attempts to grow out of his tumultuous hooligan years Adele's 25 captured her self-doubt and process coming to terms with her flaws. The biggest albums of the year all shared this personal, confessional quality. He describes racism's centuries-deep corruption he feels powerless to break but compelled to combat, to his own psychological and physical detriment. He raps about his struggles with depression and political despair. The stories Lamar tells are personal to the point of being painful at times. The moment of dominance didn't last, but the coup seemed to suggest alternatives to what a popular record could be - something with a higher tolerance for musical complexity and discussions that can't be wrapped up with a neat little maxim like shake it off. It broke a Spotify record it helped Lamar knock Taylor Swift off the Billboard artist 100 list. The dense wordplay set over frenetic jazz and stylish funk sent listeners scrambling to explain the deeper meanings and critique at play. Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly floored the world when it dropped in March. During protests in Chicago, Cleveland and Minneapolis this year, one could hear the chorus of Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" blending seamlessly into the chants of the day: "No justice/ No peace/ No racist police." This year America added another protest anthem to its canon. Music Player is a free MP3 music player for Windows 10 computer.
